Nose & Breast Aesthetics Symposium – Participation of Prof. Dr. Osman Kelahmetoğlu
The "Nose & Breast Aesthetics Symposium", to be held at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine on September 13, 2025, will bring together expert physicians in the field of plastic surgery.
Current approaches, clinical experiences, and new methods related to breast aesthetics and reconstruction will be discussed at the symposium.
Prof. Dr. Osman Kelahmetoğlu will serve as a moderator in the 3rd session of the symposium and contribute with his presentation titled "Problems and Solutions in Breast Reconstructions".
What is Breast Reconstruction?
It is a surgical procedure aimed at restoring the aesthetic and functional appearance after breast loss. Prof. Dr. Osman Kelahmetoğlu will share the definition of breast reconstruction and modern surgical approaches at the symposium.
In Which Situations Is It Performed?
Breast reconstruction is most commonly performed after breast removal due to breast cancer. Besides this, it can also be preferred in cases of trauma or congenital disorders. These different scenarios will be detailed in the presentation.
Can It Be Performed Simultaneously with Breast Cancer Surgery?
In some patients, breast reconstruction can be performed simultaneously with the removal of the tumor. The advantages of this approach and the points to consider will be among the topics to be discussed at the symposium.
The Breast Was Removed Due to Breast Cancer, Can a New Breast Be Made Later?
It is also possible to make a new breast in the second stage for patients whose treatment process is completed. This method and its application processes will be discussed with examples in the symposium presentation.
Through this session, participants will have the opportunity to learn the scope of breast reconstruction, how it is applied in different scenarios, and its relationship with cancer surgery in the light of current scientific data.
