A More Comfortable Life with Genital Aesthetic Procedures
For women, aesthetic concerns can become not only a physical issue but also a psychological one. Discomfort related to the genital area may eventually lead to social withdrawal, lack of self-confidence, and communication problems in partner relationships. Clinical and sociological studies reveal that satisfaction with genital aesthetics increases a woman’s self-confidence and creates a positive impact on her sexual life.
Sagging, enlargement, or asymmetry in the genital area may occur over time, usually due to congenital reasons or postnatal changes. Although these problems often do not require urgent medical intervention, they may cause a woman to feel aesthetically uncomfortable. Genital aesthetic surgery includes a set of surgical procedures that are preferred in such cases and provide highly successful results.
One of the most common issues in this context is sagging or enlargement of the inner labia (labia minora). This condition may cause problems such as being noticeable under tight clothing or discomfort when wearing swimsuits/bikinis. One of the most preferred methods for such cases is labiaplasty, a procedure designed to reduce and reshape the inner labia for a more aesthetic appearance.
Other procedures within the scope of genital aesthetics include correction of volume loss or asymmetry in the outer labia, vaginal tightening, repair of birth-related tears or scars, vaginal fillers, or hymenoplasty. Each case is evaluated individually, and the plastic surgeon performs the intervention with a treatment plan tailored to the patient’s needs.
Most operations can be performed under local anesthesia, with the option of general anesthesia available as well. Genital aesthetic procedures are generally carried out on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to be discharged the same day. The sutures used dissolve naturally over time, and the return to daily life is usually very quick. However, it is recommended to refrain from sexual intercourse for about 1 month after the operation. Following the doctor’s care instructions during this period helps speed up recovery.
