Thigh Lift for Firmer and Aesthetic Legs
Due to sudden weight changes, pregnancy, and the natural effects of aging, sagging and loosening in the thigh area—the upper part of the leg—often occur. This not only creates an undesirable aesthetic appearance but can also cause a loss of self-confidence. Thigh lift surgery helps eliminate these problems, allowing patients to achieve younger, firmer, and more aesthetically pleasing legs.
Thigh lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. Excess skin and sagging tissue in the upper leg are removed through an incision that extends from the groin down to the inner knee. The procedure, which lasts about 1–2 hours, tightens the loosened skin and repositions it aesthetically by suturing it to the groin area. In patients with excess fat accumulation in the thigh region, liposuction may also be performed to achieve slimmer and better-contoured legs.
Depending on the surgeon’s expertise, incision scars are usually hidden within the groin crease, making them hardly noticeable. After surgery, temporary complaints such as pain, discomfort, or difficulty walking may occur. Since the thigh is a highly mobile area, the use of a special thigh compression garment and sufficient rest after the procedure are crucial. Moreover, as the stitches are located close to the urinary tract, extra attention to hygiene is necessary.
The recovery process after thigh lift surgery varies depending on the patient’s lifestyle and postoperative care, but most individuals can return to daily activities within 7–10 days. However, strenuous exercise and physically demanding activities should be avoided for at least one month. Regular follow-up appointments as recommended by the surgeon are essential, and patients should avoid situations that may negatively affect wound healing.
Thanks to this procedure, patients not only achieve more aesthetically pleasing legs but also experience an increase in self-confidence. Thigh lift surgery is an important part of body contouring and is among the most frequently performed procedures in aesthetic surgery.
